This is a typical hotel meeting room setup for me. The camera and grip / lighting team transform the room into something that looks good on camera, and then I try and silence all the hums, buzzes and house music to ensure a clean sound recording for the editor.
This was a remarkable trip for me. I got to shoot part of a documentary on an offshore oil platform in the Gulf of Mexico. I had to complete a helicopter escape training class, and the crew was required to shave most of our facial hair to comply with PPE standards. We all decided to keep our moustaches in solidarity.
I'm used to working in tight spaces. Sometimes, it's the only choice. As a production worker, we're used to being creative on set. Sometimes, the creativity applies to how to fit people and gear into a small corporate office. Sometimes, it's a high school sports locker room.
